Dented Strings of Deceptive Ties

Flirting with the impossible love.

A teal-colored string between them
held them clung to make-believe love
Tore the shell of cosmic protection,
surfacing a toxic karmic connection

As they walked that deformed string,
he turned back and slashed it off
She was unaware that it was cut
because it was his end that bled

She walked away with dangled threads
ignorant of the torment of severed end
He saw them wither with the rocks
as she dragged them in tangled locks

They dissolved in the sand bit by bit
the remnants blew in the arid sweep
Devils stopped to bandage the wounds
on hearing coffins of emotions weep

Disjunction was an astral stroke
a split second of needle’s poke
that tied cobwebs from loose sand and
desolate dunes from sturdy strands

Destinies were infused in a stardust
that sprinkled light on their feet
their future was sealed as an antonym
of the present in which they grieved

Their union would taste like diamond
glow like sugar-infused petrichor
feel like a blinding luminary
and sound like angels’ roar
